Teams take their cues from how leaders listen, respond and handle difficult conversations. This course develops the self-awareness, empathy and communication skills that help leaders build trust, address tension early and create the conditions for people to do their best work.

Participants leave with greater self-awareness of how their emotions, behaviours, and communication shape the trust and influence they have at work. They take away practical tools for intentionally building emotional capital and using it to strengthen relationships, communicate with greater impact and influence others.

After shorter input sessions covering relevant research, frameworks, and background, participants spend the majority of the time in reflection, discussion, and practice, working with real examples from their own work.
Facilitated input, reflection, practical communication work, peer discussion and application to everyday work relationships.
The course is grounded in established research on emotional intelligence, drawing on Daniel Goleman's work on EI at work and Paul Zak's research on the neuroscience of trust, alongside Stephen Covey's concept of the emotional bank account. Additionally, the course is built on Susan David's work on emotional agility and Tasha Eurich's research on the importance of self-awareness in the workplace.
