Welcome back, UK. We’ve missed you.

The UK is returning to Erasmus+ in 2027. And we’d say that’s rather good news.

Erasmus+ KA1 funding can help your teachers and school leaders learn abroad, on structured courses or job shadowing visits. If Stockholm is on your list, we’d be glad to welcome you.

Erasmus+ KA1 at a glance

Who applies
Schools, academy trusts, local authorities and other school education organisations. The organisation applies, not individual teachers.
Activities
Structured training courses (2 to 10 days) and job shadowing (2 days to 1 month) for teachers, leaders and other school staff.
Costs
Grants contribute towards course fees, travel and subsistence, at rates set by the programme rules, and may not cover every expense.

Anticipated timeline

  1. November 2026Funding call expected to open
  2. February or March 2027Expected application deadlines
  3. June to August 2027Expected funding decisions

Indicative dates. These dates are indicative and may change. The UK National Agency FAQs give a broader February to April window depending on the action, so the exact KA1 deadline is still to be confirmed. The 2027 Programme Guide is the final authority. Projects funded under the UK 2027 call are expected to start from autumn 2027 onwards, subject to action-specific dates, so they cannot fund training earlier in 2027. Funding is never guaranteed.

Your Erasmus+ 2027 checklist

  1. Start with your school priorities

Link staff learning to your school development plan. Decide what teachers should be able to do differently afterwards, and how you’ll know. Erasmus+ priorities include inclusion and diversity, the environment and climate, digital transformation and civic participation; you don’t need to address all of them.

  2. Check eligibility and register

Confirm your organisation is eligible, create an EU Login account and register for an Organisation ID (OID). If you already have an Organisation ID, check the UK National Agency’s guidance before registering again. Registration arrangements for previous participants are being confirmed.

  3. Choose your activity

Pick a structured course, a job shadowing visit, or a combination of both that fits your priorities.

  4. Prepare your KA1 application

An eligible organisation submits a KA1 project application, which can include multiple staff mobilities where the rules allow. The call is expected to open in November 2026, with deadlines indicatively in February or March 2027. Funded activities are expected to start from autumn 2027.

Courses in Stockholm

Small-group, in-person courses for teachers and school leaders, built around practice rather than lectures. You’ll see ideas at work in a Swedish setting, then plan how they could work in your own school. What works in Stockholm won’t necessarily work in Sheffield.

Job shadowing in Swedish schools

Spend time alongside Swedish colleagues and see everyday practice up close. We look for a host school that matches your focus. Placements depend on host availability, so we confirm each one individually.

Why learn with us?

Nordic thinking. Evidence you’ll recognise.

Our courses may be rooted in Nordic approaches to education, but the way we design professional learning draws on evidence and guidance from the UK’s Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). We take seriously what the EEF says about effective professional development: building knowledge, motivating teachers, developing techniques and embedding changes in practice. So while the setting might be Scandinavian, the thinking behind your professional learning should feel reassuringly familiar.
